UPND DESCRIBES TONSE ALLIANCE AS A WEAK ALLIANCE

United Party For National Development UPND Spokesperson Cephas Chisange has ridiculed the Tonse Alliance’s decision to adopt former President Edgar Lungu as their candidate for the 2026 general elections, despite a court ruling declaring him ineligible to contest.

Speaking in an interview with Mafken news, Mr. Chisange described the Tonse Alliance’s insistence on Lungu’s candidacy as greedy, implying that the alliance is prioritizing personal interests over the well-being of the nation. 

 

He further alleged that the plans to have Mr. Lungu as their candidate clearly show that the alliance has weak leaders.

 

Meanwhile, Green Party President Peter Sinkamba has maintained that the Tonse Alliance’s is determined to have former President Edgar Lungu as their preferred candidate for the 2026 general elections.
