Some Mufulira residents have challenged the UPND government to look for a solution to the escalating prices of commodities in the country.
The residents say the prices of essential commodities in the country are so high to an extent many Zambians are failing to afford.
One of the residents who spoke on grounds of anonymity worries that the price of mealie-meal in Mufulira is almost K 400 with a 25kg bag of breakfast mealie-meal currently fetching at K 370.
Another resident Peter Kumwenda has pointed at the price of broiler chickens to be so high, urging the government to caution the impact on the millers so that the prices of stock feed can be reduced.
The residents have called on President Hakainde Hichilema to go back to his drawing board and fulfil his campaign promises among them the reduction of the price of mealie-meal to K50 per 25 kg bag.
