Lusaka Families Stranded After Kabanana Floods

Recent heavy rains in Lusaka’s Kabanana area have left several families stranded, with many losing their homes and expressing fears of a potential cholera outbreak.
Blocked drainage systems have caused severe flooding, posing significant health risks to the affected residents.
Elizabeth Mutonga and Emelda Kawambayi, residents of the area, have called on the government to prioritize the construction of proper drainage systems to prevent future incidents.
Raphael Chota Ward 25 Councilor Boniface Bwalya described the situation as critical, urging the government and relevant authorities to collaborate on both immediate and long-term solutions
