Health Minister Clears Up Lusaka Cholera Rumors

Minister of Health, Elijah Muchima, has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming cholera cases in Lusaka.
Speaking to the media, Dr. Muchima confirmed that only Nakonde has reported confirmed cholera cases.
He has urged the public to rely on official updates from the Ministry of Health for accurate information on the cholera situation.
Dr. Muchima has also announced that the oral cholera vaccine (OCV) has been approved internationally, with 1,197 doses ready for distribution.
The vaccination campaign will begin on January 7th 2024 and will target individuals aged one year and above in Nakonde.
Dr. Muchima encouraged residents to participate in the vaccination drive to help curb the spread of the disease.
