ZRA Warns Taxpayers to Meet 2024 End-of-Year Deadline

The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has cautioned taxpayers to adhere to the 2024 end-of-year tax deadline, stressing the importance of settling all outstanding tax returns and payments before or by 31st December, 2024.

In a statement availed to Mafken News by ZRA Corporate Communications Manager Oliver Nzala explained that failure to meet the deadline could result in penalties and complications for business operations in the new year.

 

Mr Nzala has further urged Taxpayers to ensure that they have fulfil all their tax obligations, including filing returns and making payments, in order to qualify for a new TCC.

He further adds that, the Authority reminded Value Added Tax (VAT) registered suppliers that, starting 1st January, 2025, input tax claims will only be valid for invoices issued through the Smart Invoice system. 

 

He explains that Invoices issued outside the system up until 31st December, 2024, will still be eligible for input tax deduction in 2025, provided they meet the 90-day validity period and other requirements.
