Some residents of Kitwe district on the Copperbelt Province have raised concerns over reports of corruption surrounding the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), fearing it is reportedly undermining the fund’s intended purpose of benefiting local communities.
Speaking to Mafken News, several beneficiaries voiced their frustrations, urging authorities to enhance transparency and accountability to ensure the funds are used effectively.
Recently Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Garry Nkombo addressed similar concerns, announcing a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption in CDF administration.
Mr Nkombo reaffirmed government’s commitment to ensuring the funds are properly managed for the benefit of communities.
