Grade 7 and 9 Exam Results Record Increase In Pass Rate

The Ministry of Education has announced that the Grade 7 and Grade 9 examination results for 2024 have shown a notable increase in pass rates.

Announcing the results in Lusaka, Minister of Education Douglas Syakalima revealed that three hundred fifty thousand one hundred sixteen out of four hundred ninety-one thousand seven hundred eighty-five candidates who sat for the Grade Seven exams successfully obtained Primary School Leaving Certificates. 

 

Mr Syakalima further revealed that for the Grade Nine exams, one hundred sixty-nine thousand two hundred eighty out of three hundred two thousand eight hundred seventy candidates received the Junior Secondary School Leaving Certificate.

The minister highlighted that the overall pass rate had increased by two point three percent compared to 2023.

 

He also emphasized that, despite the rise in student enrolment under the free education policy, the quality of the results has not been compromised.

 

The minister also revealed that this year’s exams were free of leakages.
