ADEG Urges Aggrieved Political Parties To Petition The Kawambwa By Election Citing Election Malpractice

The Advocates for Democratic Governance Foundation (ADEG)  has condemned the alleged electoral malpractices that characterised the recent Kawambwa parliamentary by elections.

 

Executive Director Gideon Musonda says his organization monitored the elections and recorded incidences that have undermined the integrity of the electoral process.

He has told Mafken News in Lusaka that monitors deployed witnessed undemocratic incidences that violated the electoral conduct among them violence, intimidation, harassment, character assassination and acts of provocation by participating political parties.

 

Mr. Musonda further stated that acts of vote buying were rife as voters where seen been given money, soup, salt and fertilizer among others 

 

Meanwhile, for political parties who participated in the elections and are not satisfied with the conduct and outcome of the election, Mr. Musonda has advised them to consider petitioning the election outcome to the court.
