NAQEZ BACKS PLANS BY GOVERNMENT TO USE OLD DATA BASE FOR THE 2024 TEACHER RECRUITMENT

The National Action for Quality Education in Zambia – NAQEZ has backed the announcement by the Minister of Education to the effect that his Government will rely on the old data base for recruiting new teachers in 2024 .

NAQEZ Executive Director Dr. Aaron Chansa says apart from removing the cost on candidates who have been applying for many years, this action will also give more chances to those whose attempts to join the Government have not been succeeding.

 

 

Dr. Chansa tells Mafken News that if effectively done, the announced model will be much quicker and efficiently progress on the part of the Teaching Service Commission.

He has however cautioned that Government must trade carefully on this sensitive matter because it has the potential to attract telling mistrusts, suspicious and serious finger pointing among stakeholders. 

 

Dr. Chansa has since called on the Teaching Service Commission to be inclusive, transparent and accountable to avoid the nationwide demonstrations that characterised the teacher recruitment earlier this year.
