Government Dubs Energy Sector As Key to Zambia’s Growth

Ministry of Technology and Science Permanent Secretary, Brilliant Habeenzu, has emphasized the significance of the energy sector in Zambia’s socio-economic development.

Dr. Habeenzu stated that the sector has been crucial in powering industries and sustaining households.

However, he acknowledged the challenges the sector faces, including climate variability, over-reliance on hydroelectric power, and limited use of greener energy sources, which have negatively impacted the nation.

Dr. Habeenzu made these remarks in his keynote speech, which was read on his behalf by the Ministry of Science and Technology Acting Director, Precious Lisulo.
