56.7 Million Dollars Allocated for Mokambo Road Rehabilitation

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has announced a $56.7 million allocation for the rehabilitation of Mokambo Road, set to be financed through a public-private partnership (PPP).
Speaking on behalf of the Minster of Housing and Urban Development Charles Milupi Acting Permanent Secretary Doreen Matambo emphasized that the concessionaire for the project must prioritize the hiring of local workers and ensure minimal disruption to businesses in the area during construction.
Mr Milupi further stated that provisions would be made for trucks to continue operating while work is underway.
And Kantanshi Member of Parliament Anthony Mumba expressed support for the initiative, highlighting its potential to improve transportation and stimulate local economic growth in the region.
