The Foundation of Blind People in Zambia executive director Peter Mweeene says there is need for government to take account of the number of disabled people in the country.
Mr. Mweeene says doing so, will make it easier for the state to provide meaningful and life sustaining opportunities for the physically challenged.
He has told Mafken News in Lusaka in an interview that as things stand government has no accurate figure of how many disabled people are in the country.
And in another development, Mr. Mweeene urged government to take full recognition of the physically challenged this year by declaring 3rd December which is the International Day for Persons living with disabilities a public holiday.
