Low Numbers Of Children On Anti-retroviral Treatment Worries Government

Government has expressed concerns at the low numbers of children living with HIV/ AIDS that are accessing anti retro viral treatment.
Health permanent secretary technical services Dr. Kennedy Lishimpi has disclosed that 43 percent of children living with HIV are still not accessing anti retro viral therapy in Zambia.
Speaking at the HIV and Aids forum in Lusaka, Dr. Lishimpi said the numbers are alarming and that there is need to change the status quo.
He further stated that the responsibility to end HIV in children needs concerted efforts from all stakeholders in order for infected children to live a healthy life.
