Minister of Labour and Social Security, Brenda Tambatamba, has announced that government is in the process of reviewing key legislation related to industrial relations to strengthen workers’ rights.

During a courtesy call from the Zambia Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, Ms. Tambatamba highlighted that the review will focus on the Industrial and Labour Relations Act, as well as the Employment Order Act.

She also revealed that government has ratified the International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention on Violence and Harassment in the Workplace, adding that the only thing remaining is the full domestication of the convention into Zambian law.
