Lecturers at the University of Zambia (UNZA) in Lusaka have announced plans to conduct a strike ballot following a lack of progress in their long-standing battle for payment of terminal benefits.
The three lecturer unions at the institution, including the University of Zambia Professional Staff Union (UNZAPROSU), made the announcement during a media briefing in Lusaka.
UNZAPROSU president Likezo Pumulo stated that despite ongoing discussions with government, no significant results have been achieved, adding that the office of the Labour Commissioner has been notified and invited to oversee the ballot.
