Police In Mufulira Investigate Woman’s Death Outside Kawama East Bar

Police in Mufulira district on the Copperbelt Province have launched an investigation following the discovery of a woman’s body outside a bar in Kawama East Compound.
Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba tells Mafken News that the deceased, identified as 38-year-old Dorcas Mulenga, was found early on the morning of October 31, 2024, near the Chipangano Bar in Darkcity.
Mr Mweemba explains that according to the deceased’s younger sister, the deceased had left her Kamuchanga residence the previous evening to visit her former landlord in Kawama East. After leaving her baby with the landlord, the deceased reportedly went out drinking.
The Commanding Officer reveals that the deceased’s body was discovered the next morning around 05:40 hours, lying on the ground near the bar.
He explains that Police reported signs of trauma, including bruises on her left cheek and signs of a struggle. Her body was found partially undressed, with blood visible and some of her belongings, such as a wig and slippers, scattered nearby.
Mr Mweemba reveals that police visited the scene and later transported the body to Kamuchanga General Hospital, where Dorcas was confirmed dead.
Police have opened a docket for the case but have yet to make any arrests as investigations continue.
