Ministry of Information and Media Permanent Secretary, Thabo Kawana, has called on farmers who are on the Farmer Input Support Program (FISP) to make the most of the resources provided and refrain from selling their inputs.
During his visit to Mafken Radio and TV studios, Mr. Kawana highlighted that over one million farmers are expected to benefit from the program in the upcoming 2024-2025 farming season.
He emphasized that the initiative is crucial for enhancing food security in the country.
Meanwhile Evans Mwansa a farmer from Mufulira District, has called on government to consider implementing a long-term solution to ensure farmers remain on the FISP program.
He noted that many farmers risk being dropped from the program in the next season, which could jeopardize their livelihoods and productivity.
