The Ministry of Agriculture has warned farmers under the Farmers Input Support Program-FISP against selling subsidised farming inputs for the 2024-2025 farming season.

Speaking in parliament, Minister of Agriculture Reuben Mtolo Phiri says the inputs are meant for farmers to increase the country’s production and should not be found on the market. Warning that those found wanting will face the wrath of the law.

Mr. Phiri has also warned beneficiaries of the FISP inputs against sharing the inputs with members in their cooperatives that have not been selected. He says the selected beneficiaries will be held accountable if they fail to sell back their produce to the Food Reserve Agency-FRA.

Meanwhile, the Minister has disclosed that farmers in most parts of the country have already started collecting their farming inputs for the 2024 – 2025 farming season.
