The prevalence of teenage pregnancy in Zambia has remained high.
This is according to the Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Kennedy Lishimpi.
During the dissemination of findings of the teenage pregnancy study in Eastern and Southern Province held in Lusaka, Dr Lishimpi stated that government is continuously engaging key stakeholders on how best to contain the growing problem.
He said some interventions include providing adolescent friendly spaces at health facilities, providing family planning services, and several other interventions detailed in the ministry’s policy documents.
And speaking earlier, Clinton Health Access Initiative Representative, Hildah Shakwelele pledged support of her organisation towards reducing the teenage pregnancy rates.
