The Drug Enforcement commission (DEC) has warned perpetrators that are in a habit of using children as conduits of trafficking drugs of stern action.
Drug enforcement head of Education and Counseling Mable Shawa says the trend has become common because perpetrators are aware that when children come in conflict with the law, they may face no arrests or being convicted at all.
Ms Shawa has told Mafken News in Lusaka in an interview that the commission has since intensified a program aimed at sensitizing young people against coming in conflict with the law especially regarding the issue of trafficking drugs.
And Ms Shawa has also cautioned people who are in a habit of making drugs available to children of stiffer punishment as such practices have become common and negatively impacting on the development of young people in society.
