39 Year Old Man Dies After Being Trapped In A Crusher At KCM

A 39 year old man of Chingola district on the Copperbelt identified as Lawrence Ndala has died after being trapped inside a crusher at Konkola Copper Mines KCM.
The incident occurred on 19th October, 2024 around 12 hours at Konkola Copper mine East mill and was reported to police by Catherine Mwila a mine Police Officer.
Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba explains that on the mentioned date and time, the deceased was operating at East mill crusher in the company of another male Darwin Kachinda when the machine got jammed.
Mr. Mweemba says that the two attempted to unjam the crusher but unfortunately it ended up trapping Lawrence Ndalama and killing him instantly while Darwin Kachinda sustained bruises on the left arm.
The police Chief adds that the two were rushed to Nchanga South Hospital where Lawrence was pronounced dead upon arrival and Darwin received treatment.
