Elder Brother Wounds Young Brother With A Hoe Over A K1000

A man of Kaloko compound in Ndola district on the Copperbelt identified as Lackson Chewe has been arrested for unlawfully wounding his young brother over a K1000.
The incident occurred on October 16,2024 around 13:50 hours and was reported to Police by Elijah Chewe the young brother to Lackson and victim in the case.
Elijah Chewe 27 reported that he was wounded by his elder brother Lackson Chewe after a dispute and a hoe is alleged to have been used to inflict the injury on the head.
Brief facts are that the complainant and the accused person were employed to mould bricks and when they finished moulding the bricks, the duo received K1, 000 which was given to the complainant.
Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba says this annoyed the suspect and accused the complainant of being disrespectful for receiving money ahead of him.
Mr. Mweemba adds that the two began to exchange bitter words which led to a fight and in the process, the accused picked a hoe and hit the complainant in the head leading to him sustaining a deep cut on the head.
He tells Mafken News that members of the public rescued the victim and took both to the Police Post where a medical report form was issued to the injured and was rushed to Ndola Teaching Hospital for treatment.
