Mufulira’s Butondo Market Receives Facelift

Butondo Ward Councilor Reuben Mukangwa has announced that works to rehabilitate Butondo Market has started.
Mr. Mukangwa says the Market which is the biggest in Kankoyo Constituency has never been rehabilitated since its construction in the 1940s and Marketers have been trading under a deplorable market shelter for many years.
The area councillor says the market will be modernized using the Constituency Development Fund CDF before the end of 2025.
For a long time, marketeers at Butondo Market have been complaining that it has become unsafe for them to store their goods in the market shelter due to its deplorable state. Adding that the market shelter has corroded roofing sheets that affects their businesses during the rainy season.
