Mufulira Municipal council has handed over two community boreholes to residents of Kantanshi Constituency constructed using the Constituency Development Fund – CDF.

Kantanshi Constituency Member of Parliament Anthony Mumba has urged community members to safeguard the boreholes, stating that government is spending huge sums of money in water projects in order to eradicate the water crisis being faced by the district.

Dr. Mumba has also warned unscrupulous people who have developed a tendency of stealing solar panels from community projects, calling on Police to ensure that stiff punishment is applied to the perpetrators once apprehended.

Meanwhile, residents have thanked the government for increasing the Constituency Development Fund which they say is taking development into communities.

Residents of section one of Kantanshi Constituency have for a long time been forced to draw water from Ronald Ross Hospital Mortuary premises.
