Increase In Mine Accidents Worries ANDD

The Advocates for National Development and Democracy-ANDD has expressed concern over the increasing cases of mine accidents in the country particularly affecting small scale miners.
The Organization says this requires the serious attention of the government in addressing this growing trend stressing that at this stage, it is important to understand why illegal mining activities are increasing.
ANDD Executive Director Samuel Banda tells Mafken News that the government should provide those involved in illegal mining with the necessary licenses.
Mr. Banda has also advised the youths to prioritize their safety before engaging in any form of mining activities by utilizing personal protective equipment and obtaining professional training.
