Residents of Zimba Compound are expressing their frustrations regarding the poor condition of the bridge that connects the community to Nanduwa cemetery.
The residents say the bridge serves as a vital link for residents visiting loved ones at the nearby cemetery but has fallen into disrepair, prompting calls for urgent attention from local authorities.
One of the residents Gift Musonda has narrated to Mafken News that he worries vehicles carrying mourners may cause accidents at the bridge if it is not worked on immediately.
The residents have since called on the local authority to rehabilitate the road leading to the grave yard and reconstruct the bridge before the onset of the rain.
Meanwhile, efforts to get a comment from Luansobe Ward Councilor Onwell Muduli proved futile as his phone went unanswered.
