Five Arrested in Ndola for Gang-Related Aggravated Robbery

Police in Ndola District on the Copperbelt Province, have arrested five alleged members of a criminal group known as the Black Dogs.


Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba tells Mafken News that the operation, which took place from September 30th at 23:00 hours to October 1, 2024 at 05:00 hours.

Mr Mweemba reveals that on 27TH September 2024 the gang attacked a 20-year-old man identified as Emmanuel Banda. The group allegedly assaulted Banda after accusing him of refusing to re-join their ranks after leaving the gang.

He further revealed that following the assault, they looted assorted groceries worth K3, 126 and K645 in cash from Banda’s shop.

The Commanding Officer explains that the victim sustained injuries from catapults, stones, slaps, and kicks during the attack.

The suspects are currently in custody, facing charges of aggravated robbery, and are expected to appear in court soon.
