Minister of Finance and National Planning Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane says the aim of the 2025 national budget is to increase the country’s Domestic Revenue which has been performing below its potential.

Dr. Musokotwane says the effects of the drought may roll over to 2025 but that government is putting in place various interventions to ensure that the much needed revenue is collected.

The minister was speaking at a symposium in Lusaka hosted by the secretary to the treasury, the governor of the bank of Zambia and the commissioner general of ZRA together with the public and private sector, to elaborate the budget more and take reviews from various stakeholders.

At the same symposium, the minister also stated that the hunger levels may still be high even in 2025 which is why a significant amount of resources in the 2025 national budget has been allocated to feed people.
