Minister of local government and Rural Development Garry Nkombo says the country has adequate laws that speak to indiscriminate waste disposal.

Mr. Nkombo says one of the reasons to the increase in indiscriminate waste disposal can be attributed to the trend that was fashionable under the previous regime, where people opted to sell from the streets as opposed to markets.

He is however hopeful that which people now operating from designated places, the issue of indiscriminate garbage disposal will be curbed.

The minister has since appealed to members of society to desist from disposing waste in undesignated places to prevent any outbreak of waterborne diseases.

The minister was speaking in parliament when he responded to a question from Kabwe Member Of Parliament Chrizoster Halwindi who wanted to find out what measures are being taken to avert any outbreak of diseases, owing to the piling up of Garbage in the CBD.
