ECZ Emphasizes Regional Cooperation for Better Elections

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in improving the electoral process.

Speaking at the official opening of the two-day study tour for the Independent Electoral Committee of Lesotho on the Referendum in Lusaka, ECZ Chairperson, Mwangala Zaloumis says the commission is looking forward to the dialogue which is set to provide valuable insights and foster mutual support among participating countries.

Mrs. Zaloumis has further highlighted the importance of learning from each country’s unique experiences to enhance electoral processes, by fostering transparent, credible and inclusive referendum and elections, ultimately strengthening democracy in the region.

Meanwhile, Lesotho Delegation Leader, Commissioner Dr. Karabo Mokobocho-Mohlakoana has higlighted the importance of learning from the experiences of other nations undergoing similar reforms, in a push to strengthen Lesotho’s legal and constitutional framework.
