Government has challenged players in the manufacturing industry to add value to their products.
Ministry of small and medium enterprise permanent secretary Lilian Bwalya says doing so will help locally produced goods be acceptable on the market.
She was speaking at the Zambia Association of manufacturers expo in Lusaka that attracted several companies in the Zambia manufacturing sector.
She added that adding visibility and quality to locally produced products will ensure sustainability of the industry.
And speaking earlier, ZAM President Ashur Shugar said consuming local products is one way of empowering the Zambian economy and that being patriotic that being entails that one choses local products first.
