Popular Witch Doctor Known As Doctor Sansankuwa Arrested In Mpongwe

Police in Mpongwe District on the Copperbelt Province, have arrested a 42-year-old witch doctor identified as Rasford Mwape, popularly known as Doctor Sansakuwa.
Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba tells Mafken News that the suspect had been on the police wanted list for various offences, including assault, obtaining goods by false pretences, and abduction.
Mr Mweemba confirmed that the suspect had been evading arrest since April 2024 and had allegedly committed the offences while performing witchcraft-related cleansing activities in St. Anthony area in Senior Chief Ndubeni’s Chiefdom.
The Copperbelt Commanding Officer explains that despite police efforts to apprehend him, the suspect continued his illegal activities.
Sansakuwa was however reported to be conducting similar rituals in Chieftainess Lesa’s Chiefdom on 5th September,2024. Acting on a tip-off from the public, police apprehended him on 10th September 2024 in Chipese area.
Mr. Mweemba has further revealed that the suspect is currently in police custody and is expected to appear in court soon.
