ZRA To honour Top Country’s Taxpayers

The Zambia Revenue Authority ZRA is set to honour the country’s top taxpayers during its annual Taxpayer Appreciation Day, scheduled for Thursday, September 12, 2024.
ZRA Corporate Communications Manager Oliver Nzala tells Mafken New that the event will recognize individuals and businesses that have demonstrated exceptional tax compliance, contributing significantly to Zambia’s tax base in the 2023 financial year.
Mr Nzala explains that the ceremony under the theme “Taxes Build Zambia”, which will highlight taxpayers’ contributions to Zambia’s economy, comes at a time when ZRA hit a milestone by collecting over K100 billion for the first time in its history in 2023 financial year.
He states that while ZRA celebrates this milestone, the authority remains concerned about the substantial number of taxpayers still non-compliant in filing returns and making payments.
