Economist Emmanuel Zulu has acknowledged the UPND’s strides in debt restructuring and the mining sector but cautioned that external shocks, such as drought and energy issues, have negatively impacted the economy.
Mr Zulu’s comments follows Vice President Mutale Nalumango’s recent assertion that the UPND government has made substantial progress in revitalizing the economy despite ongoing challenges.
In an interview with Mafken News,he asserts that funds initially earmarked for debt repayment have been largely redirected towards infrastructure development at the constituency level.
Mr Zulu urged the UPND to continue focusing on enhancing economic resilience and addressing vulnerabilities to ensure sustainable growth moving forward.
