The Ministry of Home Affairs and Yango have jointly launched a security training and safety program for Yango drivers.
This initiative underscores the need to create a safe and comfortable experience for both passengers and drivers.
Speaking during the launch in Lusaka, Yango Country Manager Kabanda Chewe emphasized that safety is paramount. The curriculum covers defensive driving techniques, hazard awareness, emergency response procedures, and the proper utilization of safety features within the Yango app.
Ms. Chewe further stated that the company has recently implemented a series of enhanced safety features in its app, aimed at addressing growing concerns about driver and rider security.
Officiating at the event, Home Affairs Permanent Secretary Dickson Matembo expressed hope that the program will be extended to more drivers for the benefit of the entire Yango brand.
