Government has commenced a sensitization campaign for administrators across the Copperbelt province regarding the Farmer Input Support Program (FISP) and the Sustainable Agriculture Financial Facility (SAFF) in preparation for the 2024/2025 farming season.

Provincial Agricultural Coordinator, Sekanayo N’gambi, announced that the program targets district commissioners and mayors due to their proximity to the community, enabling them to provide effective guidance on the implementation of FISP and SAFF.

During a meeting in Mufulira District, Mr N’gambi detailed the new modalities for these programs to District Commissioner Saboi Kabika and Mayor Tanaeli Kamanga, outlining how they will be executed in the upcoming season.

Ms Kabika assured that her office will collaborate closely with the Ministry of Agriculture to ensure that information about the programs reaches the community effectively, addressing the issue of public awareness.

Mr Kamanga emphasized the importance of agricultural extension officers ensuring that the correct beneficiaries are selected for the programs to maximize their impact.
