HIGH COST OF LIVING FRUSTRATES MUFULIRA RESIDENTS

Some residents of Mufulira district on the Copperbelt have bemoaned the high cost of living in the Country.
The residents spoken to by Mafken FM Radio News crew say it is frustrating, in that, things are getting worse by the day as there is no viable solution in sight of how they will manage to provide for their families as currently, even eating three meals is a challenge.
They have since appealed to Government to find a lasting solution that will see a reduction in the cost of living.
Meanwhile, the Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection –JCTR – Social and Economic Development Manager, Muchimba Sara Siamachoka says the high cost of living is saddening because people have started compromising and instead of having three meals in a day, most households have opted to having two or one meal simply because they cannot meet the cost.
Mrs. Siamachoka says the economy needs stability, adding that, the recent rise in the pump prices of fuel has a repo effect on the economy because it is an input to production.
