CONSORTIUM OF CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANISATIONS TELLS PRESIDENT HICHILEMA TO REVAMP MINING SECTOR FOR JOB CREATION
Written by Mafken FM Newsroom on 31 August 2023
The Consortium of civil society organisations championing the revamping of the mining industry has insisted that President Hakainde Hichilema should quickly revamp the sector in order to create the much needed jobs on the Copperbelt.
The consortium has also taken a swipe at stakeholders who are against the return of Vedanta Resources at Konkola Copper Mines saying they do not mean well for the country.
In a statement issued to Mafken FM radio, Consortium Member Ronnie Jere, who is also Zambians for Unity Peace and Development President-ZUPED- President, says the stakeholders against this move are not sincere with Zambians.
Mr. Jere says he is worried at the continued delay to address challenges at Konkola Copper Mines –KCM- and Mopani Copper mines as it is affecting a lot of things.
