MABETA ACCUSES MUFULIRA TC OF SABOTAGING CDF ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMME

Kankoyo Member of Parliament, Heartson Mabeta, has accused Mufulira Town Clerk, Moses Mwelwa and the Municipal Council of attempting to disrupt today’s Constituency Development Fund –CDF- engagement programme in Butondo area.
Speaking at the event held at Butondo Market, Mr. Mabeta expressed his concerns claiming that when attempting to access the recently purchased earth-moving equipment procured by the three constituencies in the district, he was denied access as the Town Clerk’s phone calls went unanswered.
The Kankoyo lawmaker has further challenged the Town Clerk, urging him to step out from behind his office and engage in politics openly if he so desires.
Earlier before the event, Mr Mabeta took to his official Facebook page to announce that he was unable to conclude today’s CDF engagement programme alleging that the Town Clerk had received instructions not to allow the program, as it is making President Hakainde Hichilema popular.
Meanwhile, repeated efforts from Mafken FM radio to get a comment from Mufulira Town Clerk, Moses Mwelwa regarding the matter, proved futile as his phone went unanswered.
