GOVERNMENT CHALLENGED TO MAKE PUBLIC DETAILS OF MINING AGREEMENT WITH KCM-MOPANI INVESTORS

The opposition Economic Front -EF- has challenged Government to immediately publish the details of the mining agreements and conditions they are signing with the new mine investors for both Konkola Copper Mines -KCM- and Mopani to the general public.
Speaking in a statement availed to Mafken FM radio, party Chairperson for Information and Media Fewdays Nsensema says this will enable Zambians to be aware of the conditions in the deals before the mines are handed over the investors.
Mr. Nsensema has since cautioned government to hand over KCM to Vedanta at their own risk because the company has a record and reputation of violating mining agreements and contracts wherever the company has operated.
