MOTHER AND SON DETAINED FOR SUSPECTED MURDER OF HUSBAND IN LUSAKA

Police in Lusaka have apprehended and detained Mwila Kasase aged 47 and her son identified as Madiba Zulu aged 20 for suspected murder of Alex Kanyama Zulu aged 51 all of plot number 1931 Chelstone area in Lusaka.
The incident is alleged to have occurred between 28 and 29 July, 2023.
Brief facts of the matter are that the deceased went out for business within Lusaka and came back home late while the wife had gone to visit her friend.
Later, the wife called her son and instructed him to pick her from the friend’s place using the same motor vehicle the husband was using unfortunately the motor vehicle was not available as her husband was still out.
This made the wife get upset who decided to use other means of transport going back home. Upon arrival, she ganged up with her children one aged 18 and Madiba Zulu aged 20 in beating her husband using a plunk and other kitchen utensils.
The relatives of the deceased were suspicious in the circumstances surrounding the death of their relative hence requested for a post-mortem to be conducted.
On August 8, 2023 at around 12:30 hours the deceased’s body was exhumed and a post-mortem conducted at the grave yard.
The results of the post mortem revealed that the deceased sustained a broken hand, leg, ribs and general body Pains.
Investigations are ongoing.
