38-YEAR-OLD WOMAN STABS BROTHER-IN-LAW TO DEATH

A 38-year-old woman of Lusaka’s Chawama Compound has been arrested for Murder after stabbing her brother-in-law to death.
The woman identified as Catherine Sampa is reported to have committed the crime on 1st August, 2023, at around 22:55 hours in Chawama Compound.
In a statement availed to Mafken FM radio, Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga says brief facts of the matter are that a concerned neighbour heard noise from the suspect’s house and upon reaching there, he found the deceased laying lifeless on the floor in a pool of blood with a deep cut on the neck.
He adds that after the neighbour reported the matter at Chawama Police Station, officers followed up the incident and conducted a physical check on the body of the deceased.
Mr. Hamoonga reveals that the officers confirmed the presence of a deep cut on the neck, and no object was found at the crime scene.
He adds that the motive behind the killing is yet to be established.
The Police Spokesperson says the body of the deceased has since been picked and deposited in University Teaching Hospital Mortuary awaiting Post-mortem and burial, while the suspect is in Police custody and will appear in court soon.
