CHILILABOMBWE COUNCIL DEMOLISHES ILLEGAL STRUCTURES AT KASUMBALESA

The Chililabombwe Municipal Council on the Copperbelt Province of Zambia has demolished about 1,000 illegal structures at the Kasumbalesa boarder.
The council says they will not continue watching illegalities taking centre stage in the District.
Chililabombwe Town Clerk George Mulenga says the demolished structures were being built without any documentation from the local authority.
Mr. Mulenga says the affected businesses were buying the pieces of land from known community leaders who never issued them with any legal documents.
Meanwhile, the affected residents stormed the council accusing them of being in the forefront of lawlessness, claiming that, the structures that were demolished are not on council land but on land belonging Mingombo mines.
