GOVERNMENT APPROVES THE CONSTRUCTION OF MUFULIRA DISTRICT HOSPITAL

Mufulira Central Member of Parliament, Golden Mwila, has announced that the construction of the Mufulira District Hospital has received approval in the 2023 national budget.
Speaking in an interview with Mafken FM radio, Mr Mwila has disclosed that the project required a substantial amount of funding, making it impractical to solely rely on the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for its resumption.
He explains that, while the CDF has been instrumental in supporting various community projects, the magnitude of the District hospital construction necessitated additional financial resources.
In 2014, during the tenure of the Patriotic Front Government, it was announced that the envisioned modern hospital would cost approximately K12.3 million, with a projected completion time of 13 Months, however, Mr Mwila has acknowledged that the Multimillion – Kwacha project had encountered delays due to contractual issues.
The Lawmaker has expressed optimism that the necessary arrangements would be made to ensure the hospital construction resumes promptly adding that, the completion of the Mufulira District Hospital holds great significance for the community, as it would considerably enhance healthcare services and facilities in the region.
