The 2021 United Party for National Development (UPND) Alliance Candidate for Mufulira Central Constituency Parliamentary seat, Reagan Kashinga has ditched the UPND Alliance to join the Socialist Party, citing the Government’s failure to address issues affecting Zambians.
Speaking during a press briefing held at his residence in Kalukanya Township in Mufulira District, Mr. Kashinga has charged that the UPND Government has abandoned the promises they made to the Zambian people.
Mr. Kashinga claims that the UPND administration has continued to neglect poor Zambians who have continued to suffer due to the high cost of living.
The Politician further adds that Zambians at the moment need leaders that have the heart for the people as opposed to what the current Government is doing which he says is only for rich people.
Meanwhile, reacting to the development in an exclusive interview with Mafken FM radio, UPND Copperbelt Deputy Information Publicity Secretary, Godfrey Kamangu says he is not shocked by the resignation of Mr. Kashinga from the Alliance.
Mr. Kamangu notes that, since his loss in the 2021 General Elections Mr. Kashinga has never spoken anything good about the party, claiming that he was not a loyal member all along.
He has thus, wished Mr. Kashinga well in his new political journey.
