BOWMAN LUSAMBO FACES POSSIBLE ARREST FOR ALLEGED MURDER

The opposition Patriotic Front-PF-Chairperson for Information and Publicity Raphael Nakachinda says there is a ploy to arrest former Kabushi Member of Parliament Bowman Lusambo on murder charges so that he does not file his nominations for the upcoming Parliamentary by-elections.
Mr. Nakachinda claims that Police on the Copperbelt have been instructed by State House to arrest Mr. Lusambo for the murder of National Democratic Congress member Obert Kasongo and only release him after the nominations.
He said there is also a ploy to find a case against former Kwacha MP Joe Malanji so that he does not participate in the by-elections or through campaigning for the would-be PF candidate.
Addressing Journalists at a media briefing, Mr. Nakachinda said this type of governance is not good for the growth of democracy, especially that Zambia has been a democratic state for several decades.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nakachinda has commended the people of Kenya for holding peaceful elections and hopes the transition will be smooth like it was the case for Zambia.
