CBU Lecturers paid

Lecturers and other Academic Staff at the Copperbelt University CBU in kitwe have finally been paid their delayed two months salaries.Copperbelt University Academics Union CBU AU General Secretary Willie Ngosa has confirmed the development to Diamond News today.Mr. Ngosa says the CBU staff received their delayed December salaries last Thursday.The lecturers who last week threatened to down tools have also finally been fully paid their delayed November salaries.And CBU staff have urged the Government to find a lasting solution to the problem of delayed salaries at the institution.He adds that members of staff at the varsity are living like destitute’s.Mr. Ngosa now wants the Government to consider increasing funding to the second highest institution of learning in the country.The CBU workers have further appealed to management at the institution to clear off all outstanding pension monies and gratuities owed to members of staff.Meanwhile, the CBU academic staff have made a clarion call to Government to pay their counter party’s at the University of Zambia Unza their delayed December 2020 salaries.
