Meanwhile the Electoral Commission of Zambia ECZ has responded to calls to establish a voter registration and polling station at Kafue Gorge lower hydro power station project site in Chikankata Constituency.
Kafue Gorge Lower Hydropower Station Project Director, Wesley Lwiindi has confirmed the development.
He adds that the ECZ is expected to dispatch three teams to the project site from November 28th to December 1st, 2020.
Mr. Lwiindi is hopeful that the three registration teams would be able to successfully capture the more than 1,500 workers quarantined at the power project.
Last week, Chikankata Member of Parliament Kabwe Mwiinga sent a passionate appeal to the Election body to consider setting up a temporal voter registration and casting centre at the project site to cater for the more than 1,500 local project workers quarantined since the outbreak of Covid 19 in March 2020.
